Tiffany Nguyen Interview

Interview with Tiffany Nguyen at www.nuwen.com

Marko: Heya Rikkye!
Rikkye: Hi Marko!

Marko: For our reader’s could you tell something about yourself? (year old and other stuff)
Rikkye: Hello everyone. My name is Tiffany (alias Rikkye), and I’m happily living in southern California (United States). I am a third-year undergraduate at the University of California Irvine (UCI) working hard to get accepted into UCI School of Medicine.

Marko: How are you doing these days?
Rikkye: Well to be honest, I’m quite stressed out due to a lot of things, but I’ll spare the readers the bitter details.

Marko: When did you first encounter a keyboard or computer?
Rikkye: It must have been at a friend’s house when I was ten years old. I still remember that I pulled the plug of the computer to turn it off, and got in trouble later for it, hahaha.

Marko: What is your favorite artwork/website?
Rikkye: I’m not particularly hype about certain artwork or have a particular artist in mind. However, I have always marveled at ancient architectures such as the Roman Colosseum, the Egyptian Pyramid, or the Chinese Forbidden Palace. In a way, they are the artworks of the ancient worlds.

Marko: when you launched www.nuwen.com are you happy with the result of the site?
Rikkye: Yes, I believe the site does give out a certain positive impression among new visitors, and I hope to continue to improve that experience.

Marko: What do you do in your spare time (We realize that spare time, in this context)
Rikkye: I tend to watch quite a lot of movies and televisions. Then occasionally, I take my dog for a walk in the nearby public park

Marko: Do you have a favorite drink? How much of it do you drink?
Rikkye: Yes! I drink quite a lot of ‘Naked’ smoothies. Since they cost around $4 per bottle, I tend to limit myself into drinking 2-3 per week.

Marko: Would you care to give us a brief overview of what a typical day is like for Tiffany Nguyen?
Rikkye: Wake up at 10:00 am and go to bed at 12:15 am. Anything in between such as classes, renting movies, study, Internet, and chores varied.

Marko: I am always wondering how people such as yourself go about getting work? How do you do it?
Rikkye: Design is only a hobby for me. So it doesn’t really make a differences if I get commissioned or not. However, I know there are a lot of people out there who made it their occupation. So most of the time, I recommend the clients to them, instead.

Marko: Who are some of your biggest influences?
Rikkye: My influences come from a lot of CSS designers out there. There are too many to name, but the overall objective for CSS designers is to integrate flexibility with aesthetic elegance.

Marko: Is your background in design? What was the progression into web development and design like?
Rikkye: Actually no. Web design is something that I stumbled upon one day and found it fascinating. This curiosity became the driving force behind my desire to know more. As a result, I learn on my own and never got a chance to step foot into a classroom environment though I would love to in the future.

Marko: If you where not a designer/programmer what would you be?
Rikkye: I don’t see myself as a designer. So, with everything going right now, I’m hoping to get my M.D. in the next ten years.

Marko: How do you like our site mcville.net?
Rikkye: I think mcville sets itself apart from others like it out there by incorporating interviews with the authors. By doing that, I believe that mcville really sees the person hiding behind the site. So, big thanks from all of us out there.

Marko: If you could change something on mcville what would it be?
Rikkye: I would like to see mcville in a different design (preferably more colors). Content is important, but I think the presentation is just as important. Mcville really needs that strong first impression.

Marko: What kind of music do you fancy?
Rikkye: I enjoy soft instrumental music such as pianos. Some of my favorite composers are SENS, Mitsunori Sakata, David Lanz, Brian Crain, Isao Sasaki, Jim Brickman, Kevin Kern, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yuhki Kuramoto, etc …

Marko: What’s your favorite food?
Rikkye: I don’t have a preference. If it’s good, it’s good!

Marko: Where do you get out on Saturday’s?
Rikkye: You’ll find me either at the library or at the movies depending on my moods.

Some relaxing question to follow

Marko: Chinese or Thai (food)?
Rikkye: Chinese

Marko: Coke or Pepsi?
Rikkye: It really doesn’t matter. I like the taste of a Pepsi and the intensity of a Coke. They should join forces and call it Cosi. It’ll be great!

Marko: html or css?
Rikkye: CSS is the future of web design, I’m sure.

Marko: Do you watch television? If so, do you have a favorite show?
Rikkye: Yes, I get very engaged in House MD, Law & Order, and CSI.

Marko: What would we find in your favorites bookmarks-bar?
Rikkye: You’ll see links to sites that I absolutely adore.

Marko: What inspires you? This doesn’t have to be design related.
Rikkye: I’m inspired by the little details in nature such as the rustling of leaves in the wind or the soothing silent of a lake. It’s these little details in life that can be gratifying, yet we often easily overlook.

Marko: Thank again for having this interview Tiffany, Cheers!
Rikkye: Anytime, It’s been great!
