Marko: Hello David !
David: Hi Marko, (wow my first interview, success at last ;) )
Marko: For our reader’s could you tell something about yourself? (year old and other stuff)
David: i’m a 27 years old graphic designer from Strasbourg in France.
1 m 80 for 70 kg (try to work out but doesn’t seems to work)
I’m a freelancer in print and web design.
Marko: How are you doing these days?
David: Cold, cold, cold.
I’ve been pretty busy those days, 2006 wil be a great year i hope so.
Marko: When did you first encounter a keyboard or computer?
David: i was about 10, but i broke it to do a space base for my lego adventures.
Marko: What is your favorite art work /website!?
David: I don’t have a particular art work style. I just want to get impressed in differents ways.
I like crazy people who does crazy things (Joshua Davis).

Marko: when you launched parhazard.com are you happy with the result of the site?
David: I ve got a bad habit, i’m never finished with a design, there’s always something more to do.
I m working on a new design and be sure that when i finish it i’ll restart again and again.
It’s been 3 different version in less than a year.
Marko: What do you do in your spare time (We realize that spare time, in this context)
David: tennis, photography, go out with friends,try no to talk about the job, lot’s of commun things.
Trying not to answser the phone (there’s always crazy clients trying to call me on sunday 7:00 am)
Marko: Do you have a favorite drink? How much of it do you drink?
David: diet coke and orange juice all the week
and on the week end, red wine.

Marko: Would you care to give us a brief overview of what a typical day is like for David Heitz ?
David: 7:00 ; my body wake up but my mind still dreaming
Start to work at 8:30, answer phone, recall clients, explain that there is no way to make a full flash/php website in 3 hours.
1:00 pm, hummm hungry (make some pasta, read a book)
1:15 pm phone call (clients don’t eat)
2:00 pm back to work
7:00 pm my girlfriend come from work yeahhhhh the day is over
The fiesta time starts.
Marko: I am always wondering how people such as yourself go about getting work? How do you do it?
David: In the beginning, i went to see directly the clients with my portfolio.
I do a lot of emailing too and phone calls.
And with luck it bites.
Marko: Who are some of your biggest influences?
David: internet and all the artists on it. I don’t have a particular influence, it depends on my mood.
I really like joshua davis work.
Marko: Is your background in design? What was the progression into web development and design like?
David: I’ve never been a great student (too much drawing i think), it was obvious to me to do something in graphics.
I went to a design school in strasbourg and after two years, i got graduated and tried to find a job.
Couldn’t find any so i became a freelancer.
I began my work as a web designer in 2001 and learned flash at this time.
I couldnt stop since.
Marko: If you where not a designer/programmer what would you be?
David: a penguin, i love the way they walk or run. Silly birds
Marko: How do you like our site mcville.net?
David: very cool, it’s funny to read other designers life.
I loved
Marko: If you could change something on mcville what would it be?
David: more colours maybe
Marko: What kind of music do you fancy?
David: jazz and electro music (telepomusic, air, zero 7)
I like a lot of different music, i love to discover new groups.
Today i’m leastening Ginzhu, great belgium band (i think)
Marko: What’s your favorite food?
David: the one i share with friends ;)
Marko: Where do you get out on Saturday’s?
David: All my week ends are away from my computer. I go walking, see the trees, smell the fresh air, natural things (going out with friends in bars, eat and sleep well)

David: japanese. I love sushis ;)
Marko: Coke or Pepsi?
David: diet coke
Marko: html or css?
David: css of course
Marko: Do you watch television? If so, do you have a favorite show?
David: Yeah a lot (too much )
movies, animals documentary (penguins again)
Marko: What would we find in your favorites bookmarks-bar?
David: A looot of websites of designers or about design and a lot of dead links too.
I’ve got my bookmarks since 1999
Marko: What inspires you? This doesn’t have to be design related.
David: The streets (urban art), wine and ….....
