Marko: Hello !
Junya: Hello, Marko!
Marko: For our reader’s could you tell something about yourself? (year old and other stuff)
Junya: I live in Osaka, my friends call me “Bos”.
Although my age is secret, I am not a teenage boy!
About 3 years ago, I started the office of a design “Maro Graphic” .
By the way, “Maro”is my pretty dog’s name!
Mainly, I am working on Graphic and Web design.
Marko: How are you doing these days?
Junya: Last month,finally, we had a pretty baby boy! I am taking care of my baby,
giving a milk and changing a nappy.
Although the child care is very tough work, I am really enjoying
taking care of him!
Marko: Congratz Junya!
Marko: When did you first encounter a keyboard or computer?
Junya: When I was a junior high school student, my father gave me the computer which was made by NEC. At the time,
I made a simple game like the” Arkanoid”( TAITO CORPORATION in 1986) by the computer
programming BASIC ( Beginner’s All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code).
Marko: What is your favorite art work /website!?
Junya: I love the works of Mr. Kashiwa Sato who is a famous art director in Japan.
I think his works have very strong influence, in particular, the work of advertisements.
If you don’t know him, please find his works!
Marko: When you launched maro-g.com are you happy with the result of the site?
Junya: After I launched “MARO FRAGMENT”, fortunately, many CSS galleries introduced my works.
Therefore, many people who live in overseas
have visited my site. I am very happy with that! However, my site is only in Japanese, so I am
sorry about that. Someday,I would like to make it in English!
Additionally, as “MARO FRAGMENT” is a temporary site, I would like to launch ” MARO GRAPHIX” as soon as I can possible.
It be planning stage! I will launch it by the end of this year!
Marko: What do you do in your spare time (We realize that spare time, in this context)
Junya: I go for a walk to the park near my house, sometimes enjoy shopping at a music store.
Additionally, Kyoto is close to my place, so I enjoy visiting temples to take some pictures.
Marko: Do you have a favorite drink? How much of it do you drink?
Junya: I love Colong tea (Chinese tea), drink 5 cups a day!
I heard it is good for a diet!
At night, I enjoy drinking shochu (sake) with my family and friends but I am don’t drink too much.
Marko: Would you care to give us a brief overview of what a typical day is like for you ?
Junya: Normally, I get up at 7 o’clock, and make sure if my baby is fine.
And then checks some mails and start working.
In afternoon, I have some meetings with my clients.
Usually, I am working till 8 o’clock, sometimes working all night!
Marko: I am always wondering how people such as yourself go about getting work? How do you do it?
Junya: Mainly, I am getting work with an introduction from my acquaintances and friends.
Rarey, I have a work from the web site.
Marko: Who are some of your biggest influences?
Junya: Mr.Koji Nishida who is RAKU-GAKI.COM
I think his work is very unique!
I can distinguish his works and another one, it is impressive.
I am always thinking that I wish I could be like him.
Marko: Is your background in design? What was the progression into web development and design like?
Junya: I studied architecture at high school, and graphic design at University.
After I graduated from Uni, I got the job of the general company.
After I resigned this company, I found the job of the web development.
I realized that it is a great opportunity in future to develop a web, so I studied it deeply and
got the job in the advertising company.
Marko: If you where not a designer/programmer what would you be?
Junya: I love foods and getting along with people! I suppose I was an owner of a restaurant.
Now, I am sorry that I have not enough opportunity to meet people.
Marko: How do you like our site mcville.net?
Junya: Great! I can know many opinions, people’s thinking and interesting.
I am looking forward to finding your new works, expecting a lot!
Marko: If you could change something on mcville what would it be?
Junya: It would very helpful if you could make Japanese version.
I think many Japanese are not good at English,including myself!
Marko: What kind of music do you fancy?
Junya: I love many kinds of music! I am listening to relaxing music like “Bossa Nova”
(Brazilian music) when I am working.
Marko: What’s your favorite food?
Junya: My wife’s hamburg steak! It is the best food in my life.
Marko: Where do you get out on Saturday’s?
Sushi restranunt where is close to my place.

Marko: Chinese or Thai (food)?
Junya: Chinese! I am not good at a hot food.
Marko: Coke or Pepsi?
Junya: Coke, diet coke! I am in diet.
Marko: HTML or CSS?
Junya: Both are important!
Marko: Do you watch television? If so, do you have a favorite show?
Junya: Recently, I watch the satellite broadcasting, my favorite show is “LOST”which
is American TV program.
Marko:What OS do you use ?
Junya: MAC OSX and WindowsXP
Marko: What would we find in your favorites bookmarks-bar?
Junya: Some CSS Garallies and SNS mixi which has been booming in Japan.
Marko: What inspires you? This doesn’t have to be design related.
Junya: I enjoy talking with people who are working in another industries.
The communication makes me very happy and inspire me.

— Marko Aug 15, 11:18 AM # From this interview I will seriously be considering poeple’s suggestions for mcville.In this case Mr.Junya thinks it will be very helpful if mcville could be in a Japanese version. So if anyone out there has some free time and good langauage skills give us a hand then.
