Marko: Hello Livio :) !

Livio: Hi Marko, Namaskar (wishing in Hindi)

Marko: For our reader’s could you tell something about yourself? (year old and other stuff)

Livio: Yah, I was borne to Mr. and Mrs. Kujur on 8 March 1971 in Assam, India. I come from a tribe called Oraon (Adivasi from Jharkhand). I did my Graduation in Assam and Graphic studies in Pune. Presently I am working as web and graphic designer for Mauritius Telecom in Mauritius Island and do freelance web work as well . I am married and me and my wife Pratibha are blessed with 2 kids son Gavin (5) and daughter Kanchan(2). I have been working in web field for 9 years as designer. I also run a community website for our tribe, www.joharadivasi.com

Marko: How are you doing these days?

Livio: Well this days am busy with loads of work at office and at home too. With our office team we are trying to bring out something new in our company’s online directory, www.teleservices.mu as we are approaching closer to the infotech 2006 (www.infotech.mu) in Mauritius. And at home busy with family and freelance work.

Marko: When did you first encounter a keyboard or computer?

Livio: Will you believe if I tell you? When I was 26 after my graduation I was looking for career and went for consultancy in a Multimedia training center and there for the first time I touched and viewed the graphic works in computer.

Marko: What is your favorite art work /website!?

Livio: I personally like all the sites that look cool and appealing but I visit everyday CSS galleries to view beautiful websites. As for my own work I like all of them which I do with my free mind without any one telling me anything.

Marko: When you launched kujur.net are you happy with the result of the site?

Livio: I always wanted to have my personal playground where I could write the things that I think and publish my works etc. and that’s how kujur.net was launched mid this year. Oh, yes am happy with the result as I get feedback on my portfolios and other matters that I publish. I just updated it today and trying to put all my works in it and also trying to write something in this site.

Marko: What do you do in your spare time (We realize that spare time, in this context)

Livio: Well in my spare time I play with my kids, go to playground, watch TV music channel, watch movies or watch my son play computer game (Car Race) or go out shopping with the family etc.

Marko: Do you have a favorite drink? How much of it do you drink?

Livio: Water! Around 2 liters in a day.

Marko: Would you care to give us a brief overview of what a typical day is like for you ?

Livio: My day starts at 6 am. And try to finish most of my basic needs by 6:30. At 6:30 me and my son get ready for school and office. I leave home for work around 7:30 am and start working between 8:30 and 9 am. If only traffic allows am at work by 8:30 and then busy at office till we have lunch break where I usually go out with my friend doing window shopping etc. Then we get back to work till 4 pm. As soon as office time is over I rush to take the bus to get back home unless there is something urgent and should stay back. After reaching home I get busy with my kids, we play, watch TV etc. and around 8 pm kids take dinner and sleep. After my kids sleep I seat in front of my computer and do the freelance works or browse etc. around 10:30 I take my dinner, watch TV and if I have to finish I get back to work till I feel sleepy.

Marko: I am always wondering how people such as yourself go about getting work? How do you do it?

Livio: Most of my freelance job I get from friends or from people who has seen my work or with recommendation made by my friends.

Marko: Who are some of your biggest influences?

Livio: My wife, kids, parents and my family. But I do not forget my 3 best friends who helped me to be what I am today including my wife and would like to mention their names Alex, Shanu and Glen from Pune India. They are my biggest influence.

Marko: Is your background in design? What was the progression into web development and design like?

Livio: No, my background is not in design but from child hood I use to do paintings and drawings etc. I still remember when I was in 3rd standard I own first prize in drawing competition in a district level. It was in 1997 when I was looking for career and went to a Multimedia institute in Pune called Arena Multimedia to enquire about graphic courses. That’s how I got into the graphic design. I was lucky after I finish my course I got a job as a web designer in Chyistaline Infotek, which is one of the first web designing company in Pune and it was my friend Biju who introduced me to the world of internet. The time when I started web designing in India it was just blooming so I got lucky and that’s how today I became web and graphic designer. It was tough for me to learn HTML at that time coz I never understood anything but my collogue Rahul forced me to learn. Days went by and I kept browsing sites and stared learning and going deep into it. My first online tutorial was Web Style Guide (Patrick J. Lynch) I still visit the site and HTML Goodies.

Marko: If you where not a designer/programmer what would you be?

Livio: If I were not a designer, I might have become a teacher.

Marko: How do you like our site mcville.net?

Livio: I love this site coz it’s a great platform for designers like us who get exposed to the people. Marko, thank you for creating this door for us all.

Marko: If you could change something on mcville what would it be?

Livio: Your site is perfect, I would change nothing but would have added something…I did not find search in this site which could be a great advantage to find things faster in the site.

Marko: What kind of music do you fancy?

Livio: Rock, Sentimental, Reggae and Country music and of course Indian music.

Marko: What’s your favorite food?

Livio: Rice, I need it or I do not get sleep!

Marko: Where do you get out on Saturday’s?

Livio: Shopping center with the family or meeting family members or friends.

Livio: CSS

Marko: Do you watch television? If so, do you have a favorite show?

Livio: Yah I do, usually on Sunday I love to watch a comedy show in hindi called “Family Number One”. Other days every thing what I see in the TV is half and half never from the beginning till end either beginning to half or half to last.

Marko:What OS do you use ?

Livio: Windows XP

Marko: What would we find in your favorites bookmarks-bar?

Livio: Full of css and xhtml gallery and guide, hosting sites, search engines listed, design guides and lots of general sites for reference or learning.

Marko: What inspires you? This doesn’t have to be design related.

Livio: The sun rise and the sun set at the sea…and the colors of the sea.
