Interivew with Tor Bollingmo at Designalized.com
Marko: Heya Tor !
Tor: Hy there, Marko.
Marko: For our reader’s could you tell something about yourself? (year old and other stuff)
Tor: Well, I’m a 18 year old boy from Norway.
How are you doing these days?
I’m doing really good, no downsides at the moment.
Marko: When did you first encounter a keyboard or computer?
Tor: I’m a youngster, so it was around ’94-’95, I got my first computer in 1998.
Marko: What is your favorite art work /website!?
Tor: A lot of the Daily Deviations at deviantART.com, I really like those. Websites, hmm.. I tend to like websites more for the sake of the content, like stylegala and ALA.
Marko: when you launched Designalized.com are you happy with the result of the site?
Tor: I am happy with the site design at the moment, but I’ve only finished the blogging part, I’m thinking about my portfolio, and how I’m going to present it. But I am glad I have a place to put up articles for feedback, yes.
Marko: What do you do in your spare time (We realize that spare time, in this context)
Tor: Besides the time I spend at the computer, I listen to music and socialize.
Marko: Do you have a favorite drink? How much of it do you drink?
Tor: Since I’m too young for liquor, I must say Vanilla Coke. Ohh, I carve for it. But sadly it’s no longer in sale, here in Norway.
Marko: Would you care to give us a brief overview of what a typical day is like for Tor Bollingmo?
Tor: Attending school, relax and watch episodes of my favorite TV series, visit my girlfriend and sleep.
Marko: I am always wondering how people such as yourself go about getting work? How do you do it?
Tor: I team up with a bud of mine, who are into PHP, since I don’t know squat about it. He is the one getting work, and I just do my part, really.
Marko: Who are some of your biggest influences?
Tor: I would say other designers and art.
Marko: Is your background in design? What was the progression into web development and design like?
Tor: I don’t really have a background; I started seriously with web development for about 2 years ago. And at that point I started getting interested in photography as well
Marko: If you where not a designer/programmer what would you be?
Tor: I don’t know, haven’t finished school yet, so who knows?
Marko: How do you like our site mcville.net?
Tor: I think the all black background is a little bit too much, I would like to see a lighter page.
Marko: If you could change something on the site what would it be?
Tor: body{background:#fff;}
Marko: What kind of music do you fancy?
Tor: Electronic, bossa nova and easy listening. But I also listen to some more rock bands like the Norwegian Turbonegro, Queens of the Stone Age and Rammstein. Rammstein is more of a industrial metal band, though.
Marko: What’s your favorite food?
Tor: Tacos.
Marko: Where do you get out on Saturday’s?
Tor: A small pub located in Hřnefoss, the city I live in. I go there with a bunch of my friends and we have a really good time.
some relaxing question to follow
Marko: Chinese or Thai (food)?
Tor: What’s the difference?
Marko: Coke or Pepsi?
Tor: Coke, Vanilla.
Marko: html or css?
Tor: HTML.
Marko: Do you watch television? If so, do you have a favorite show?
Tor: Family Guy
Marko: What would we find in your favorites bookmarks-bar?
Tor: Some Norwegian web development forum, Stylegala, Digg.com, dA and a Norwegian news site.
Marko: What inspires you? This doesn’t have to be design related.
Tor: Esthetics.
Marko: Thank again for having this interview Tor ,Cheers!
Tor: Kein problem!
