Interivew with Jordan Daniel at blueplasmarecordings.com
Marko: Heya Jordan!
Jordan: Howdy!
Marko: For our reader’s could you tell something about yourself? (year old
and other stuff)
Jordan: I’m an advertising nut. I love branding, making brands, packaging, and
all other forms of creativity with a computer, including producing
electronic music.
Marko: How are you doing these days?
Jordan: I’m doing wonderful. Thanks for asking.
Marko: When did you first encounter a keyboard or computer?
Jordan: I was probably about 6 minutes old. My mother used to tease me that I
came out with a firewire cable attached to keep me fed. It’s probably
not far from the truth.
Marko: What is your favorite art work /website!?
Jordan: Mine. FringeImage.com :)
Jordan: Just kidding. I really enjoy a lot of things i’ve come across browsing
Stylegala.com and Newstoday.com. I don’t really have a personal favorite
though.
Marko: when you launched blueplasmarecordings.com are you happy with the
result of the site?
Jordan: I’m happy with a lot of the site. I’m going a b to make it dynamic soon and
add a lot of content. Overall though, the site has beenig success.
So, yeah, I’m pretty happy with it.
Marko: What do you do in your spare time (We realize that spare time, in
this context)
Jordan: I make websites!
I also write electronic music (I think I mentioned that?) and enjoy
watching the show Lost… I’m addicted.
Marko: Do you have a favorite drink? How much of it do you drink?
Jordan: Redbull. A LOT. Probably too much.
Marko: Would you care to give us a brief overview of what a typical day is
like for Jordan?
Jordan: Well, I get up around 7:00, take a shower, brush my teeth, eat some
cereal, kiss my wife goodbye, go to work (day job as an Art Director for
Ariamedia), work my butt off designing and managing, then go home and
work some more. Typically on a website for someone else. :)
Marko: I am always wondering how people such as yourself go about getting
work? How do you do it?
Jordan: Well, I’ve really had a pretty easy time getting clients. It’s mostly
been luck though. I treat each client like they’re a million bucks, no
matter what the project or how big/small it is. Referrals happen when
clients are impressed with your work.
Marko: Who are some of your biggest influences?
Jordan: History’s greats. Da Vinci mostly. I really enjoy his work and his
thoughts on life. Douglas Adams was a big influence as well. 42!
Marko: Is your background in design? What was the progression into web
development and design like?
Jordan: I grew up in an Advertising agency my parents owned. I knew I was going
to do design from the day I first played with Illustrator, back when it
was just called Adobe 88. I actually had the beta.
Marko: If you where not a designer/programmer what would you be?
Jordan: That’s a good question. A teacher most likely. I really enjoy teaching.
Marko: How do you like our site mcville.net?
Jordan: I like it a lot. Nice balance. Great colors. I dig minimalism.
Marko: If you could change something on the site what would it be?
Jordan: I’d add a bit more leading on the paragraph text. I think that would
make it a little easier to read.
Marko: What kind of music do you fancy?
Jordan: All kinds of music. I like Radiohead, Kent, U2, Depeche Mode, Sigur Ros,
and Kasabian as of late. I’ve also been listening to Credence Clearwater
Revival a lot.
Marko: What’s your favorite food?
Jordan: Junk, but I can’t eat that a lot.
Marko: Where do you get out on Saturday’s?
Jordan: Clubs. I love dance music.
some relaxing question to follow
Marko: Chinese or Thai (food)?
Jordan: Thai
Marko: Coke or Pepsi?
Jordan: Pepsi. Of course.
Marko: html or css?
Jordan: Both.
Marko: Do you watch television? If so, do you have a favorite show?
Jordan: On occasion. Currently I’m really into Lost on ABC. Addictive!
Marko: What would we find in your favorites bookmarks-bar?
Jordan: http://del.icio.us/JordanWollman
Marko: What inspires you? This doesn’t have to be design related.
Jordan: Great communication. I love it when people take their art beyond fluff
and really push it, and make you think. I hope I can do that for some
one out there some day.
Marko: Thank again for having this interview Jordan ,Cheers!
Jordan: Thanks for interviewing me. Am I famous now!?
Marko: heh :)
