Anders Grimsrud Interview

Interivew with Anders Grimsrud at 2peaks.com

Marko: Heya Anders!
Anders: Hey Marko!

Marko: For our reader’s could you tell something about yourself? (year old and other stuff)
Anders: I’m a youngster from Norway. I’m a student, think most people know what that involve.

Marko: How are you doing these days?
Anders: I’m really busy at the moment, but I’m doing fine whenever I get the time to.

Marko: When did you first encounter a keyboard or computer?
Anders: I have had access to a computer through most of my childhood really, as I’m of the young generation. But I had my own computer quite late, say ‘99.

Marko: What is your favorite art work /website!?
Anders: Oh, there are so many… simplebits.com is great, so is joshuaink.com, and farwoods.com too. To name the top of the top.

Marko: When you launched 2peaks.com are you happy with the result of the site?
Anders: In one way. I’m satisfied with the design, but time limited me from adding all the extras I wanted to. So the site is a bit low on content now in the start, but we’ll fix that.. at its time :)

Marko: What do you do in your spare time (We realize that spare time, in this context)
Anders: Take 7 days, subtract school, then sleep and then some meals. (If lucky) you’ll end up with a few hours. A few hours spent either sitting at home conquering the web or being over with some friends.

Marko: Do you have a favorite drink? How much of it do you drink?
Anders: Coca Cola. A couple a week.

Marko: Would you care to give us a brief overview of what a typical day is like for Anders Grimsrud?
Anders: For another 6 months I’ll go to sleep an hour or two too late in the evening, waking up just to catch the bus (I haven’t missed it one single time this term!). Then it’s pretty much school for the rest of the day, except tuesdays and thursdays when I attend Aikido lessons with a friend. And I usually get around checking my email and feeds.

Marko: I am always wondering how people such as yourself go about getting work? How do you do it?
Anders: If you’re looking for advice, ask someone else! The few jobs I’ve had is for friends and family, so the jobs mostly go about getting me. But I am sure a business card will come along pretty soon!

Marko: Who are some of your biggest influences?
Anders: Well, I have to say A List Apart has posted some wise articles. In addition we have Jon Hicks and those brit boys. Design wise, that is.

Marko: Is your background in design? What was the progression into web development and design like?
Anders: I got my hands on a copy of MS Office with Frontpage some years back, but after repeatedly being fooled by the WYSIWYG window, I switched to Dreamweaver and notepad. When it comes to the design, I don’t actually have any master of science. I try making something good looking, and that’s it I guess.

Marko: If you were not a designer/programmer what would you be?
Anders: A moviestar? No, really, I’m still just a student. A web designer is one of the things I’d like to be!

Marko: How do you like our site mcville.net?
Anders: It’s original, and delivers what it’s supposed to! I’ve read several of the interviews before, and that interview list is getting long! Aiming for a world record?

Marko: If you could change something on the site what would it be?
Anders: Colours. The ones you have now fit well enough. But more!

Marko: What kind of music do you fancy?
Anders: Most kinds actually. Favourites has to be Hans Zimmer and Harry G Williams though.

Marko: What’s your favorite food?
Anders: Mexican. Taco.

Marko: Where do you get out on Saturday’s?
Anders: I’m mostly over with friends. And cinema is a great invention.

some relaxing question to follow

Marko: Chinese or Thai (food)?
Anders: Thai

Marko: Coke or Pepsi?
Anders: Coke!

Marko: HTML or CSS?
Anders: Both?

Marko: Do you watch television? If so, do you have a favorite show?
Anders: I don’t really watch too much TV. But David Letterman always make me laugh.

Marko: What would we find in your favorites bookmarks-bar?
Anders: The bookmark toolbar is pretty much overloaded at the moment. Del.icio.us, several live bookmarks, a lot of inspiration. And I have the ugliest website ever, for motivation whenever I feel really crap at something.

Marko: What inspires you? This doesn’t have to be design related.
Anders: Nature, music and sleep. I get many ideas while sleeping, really.

Marko: Thanks again for having this interview Anders, Cheers!
Anders: Thanks to you too, Marko!
