Marko: Heya William!
William: Howzit Marko!
Marko: For our reader’s could you tell something about yourself? (year old and other stuff)
William: I’m a 30yrs old South African living in Denmark. I’m also a qualified architect who has his own little design studio specialising in 3D visualisations and design.
Marko: How are you doing these days?
William: Well thanks, in a couple of days I’m off for a 3 week holiday to South Africa. It’s going to be great to take a break and see my family again!
Marko: When did you first encounter a keyboard or computer?
William: My first experience was a Macintosh with Logos back in primary school. After that my dad bought me a Commadore 64.
Marko: What is your favorite art work /website!?
William: Artwork: It has to be René Magritte’s Ceci N’est Pas Une Pipe (This is not a pipe), It appeals to my sense of humour.
Website: Ryan Sim’s personal site www.justwatchthesky.com before it went offline, Mr Sims is talented.
Marko: when you launched williamcelliers.dk where you happy with the result of the site?
William: Ja, I was and still happy with the look. It’s neat, precise and to the point. Sure there are certain things I still want to work on, I’ll get there.
Marko: If you could change something on the site what would it be?
William: Having more time for it. I really want to work on a better blog area, post a lot more, change the layout a bit.
Marko: What do you do in your spare time (We realize that spare time, in this context)
William: Fly kites, go to the movies, hang out with my wife at our local café.
Marko: Do you have a favorite drink? How much of it do you drink?
William: Everyone has an addiction, coffee is mine. Don’t ask me how much I drink because I’m in denial.
Marko: Would you care to give us a brief overview of what a typical day is like for William Celliers?
William: When I work at home, I wake up, eat breakfast and fire the computer up. All this hopefully by 8. I’ll work straight through the day taking a couple of breaks, like chat to the postman or shoot off to a meeting, until my wife gets back from work around about 3-ish. I usually then take an hour or two off doing the practical daily stuff like buy groceries. After supper I’ll sit down and work for another couple of hours until I think I’ve had enough, maybe catch some TV and then go off to bed.
Marko: I am always wondering how people such as yourself go about getting work? How do you do it?
William: Work usually comes by word of mouth but 8 out 10 times it’s my stable clients.
Marko: Who are some of your biggest influences?
William: Lebbeus Woods, a great architect/amazing artist.
Marko: Is your background in design? What was the progression into web development and design like?
William: Yes, I have a 5yr degree in architecture so design is a way of life for me. As for my web progression, I feel that I’ve just started. I’ve found that I really enjoy web design and could defiantly see my self doing nothing else but it.
Marko: If you where not a designer/programmer what would you be?
William: The president of South Africa.
Marko: How do you like our site mcville.net?
William: I think you guys have got a kick-arse idea! It’s one of those “wish I had thought of that” sites. Keep up the good work.
Marko: What kind of music do you fancy?
William: Mostly 80’s music. Duran Duran, a-HA, Depeche Mode … you get the point.
Marko: What’s your favorite food?
William: Anything with chicken in it. I’m a big fan of KFC.
Marko: Where do you get out on Saturday’s?
William: Usually with friends at a restaurant getting boozed.
